Yuck. A rainy January day. Should be a nice mucky mess out there today. On the positive side, it's a balmy 4 degrees!

My daughter's best friend's birthday party is today. As you can tell from the photo, A is very excited as it's a dress up party and she gets to wear her fancy dress. Good times were had by all!

No, you are not seeing things. This is my daughter wearing a bathing suit on January 22nd. She's got her own unique sense of fashion! Luckily, I talked her into putting a long sleeve shirt and a pair of pants over top before we went out shopping!

The shame! This is my dining room table almost a month after Christmas. Still piled high with all the Christmas decorations I should have packed away a couple of weeks ago. In my defence, I've been trying to find a new way to store them, but really, I'm just a terrible procrastinator!

Can you believe my sweet little 4 year old did this today? This is where our towel rack was anchored into the wall. She did this trying to pull her towel off the rack. Daddy was NOT impressed. Oops!

My birthday. It was great - got an Ipod Nano from hubby, book from the kids, got to sleep in and spent the afternoon volunteering at A's school. This was dinner: pad thai with shrimp, chicken curry with sticky rice, and shrimp spring roll from the local Thai takeout place. And I got to go and pick it up while hubby put both kids to bed. Sweeet!

Excuse the manic expression on my face! This was the birthday dinner thrown for me by my mum. C was really excited about blowing out the candles (each of the kids got their own cupcake and candle to blow out, too!). Great food and a really nice evening. Thanks Mum!

A's first ever time on skates. Taking a lesson with Daddy at the rink. A few tears near the beginning when she realized it was going to be harder than she thought, but in the end, she was moving all by herself and so proud of herself! She says she's going to start playing hockey at 6, so Daddy was pretty proud!! (Sorry for the crappy photo quality - I managed to take about 2 pictures before the camera battery died!)

One of my New Year's plans is to wash all our sheets and towels on Wednesdays, since nothing else good seems to happen on hump day. So after a long Wednesday, here's my nice fresh bed, all ready for me to climb in. Pure bliss!

This is where C and I spent the morning: in the pediatrician's waiting room. Poor C has a nasty ear infection and possible ruptured ear drum. Starting antibiotics and ear drops today and we go back in 15 days for a follow up. Poor little man.

First day back to school for A after the Christmas holidays. Finally a day to relax at home with nowhere else to be. So C and I cracked open a bag of chips and watched some telly this afternoon!

Our last "event" of the holidays. Tea at my mother-in-law's (in white vest) with my mum (in brown) and my husband's second cousin and his wife (neither of whom are pictured). Good times, but I'm glad the get togethers are over for a while. What a busy Christmas season this has been!
